Between my linguistics studies and years of raising little francophones, I’ve come to know that two things truly make a difference when it comes to learning a new language: active immersion through listening — training little ears to recognize and absorb French — and building joyful, positive associations with the language right from the very start. This stage is foundational: it’s what shapes each child’s natural, effortless relationship with French.

Picture a cozy, playful space designed to help little ones learn French through play — songs, movement, puppets, and first words. Your child will be gently surrounded by the language, not to perform or memorize, but simply to become familiar with its sounds, its rhythm, its music. Like learning to love a melody before you know all the words.

This experience becomes the root of something lasting — a genuine curiosity and ease with French that grows with them.

French Immersion Prep

(The “Confidence Booster”)

Ages 4–6 years old.

Drawing on my time as a French immersion French teacher, I’ve developed gentle, joyful strategies to help young learners feel truly at ease — and this class is the heart of that approach. It’s the perfect fit for children who are getting ready to start French immersion school, or who have just taken their very first steps in a French classroom.

Each session takes place in a small, welcoming space where learning feels like play — through movement, dance, and games, essential phrases like “Je peux… J’ai besoin… Aidez-moi” (I can… I need… Help me) gradually become easier to recognize, and in time, to use naturally.

The goal isn’t to drill or test — it’s to be a warm, supportive complement to the French your child is learning at school, and to help them feel progressively more comfortable and confident speaking out loud. No pressure. Just plenty of joy.
