Mme Delphine

Having lived in Belgium, Burundi, and Canada, I’ve had to learn a new language more than once. I know this process intimately — and the emotions that come with it. That is why I care so deeply about making this experience as gentle and joyful as possible.

Drawing on my childhood experiences, I chose to pursue my first degree in linguistics, then went on to become a certified teacher through the University of Alberta — and it is in teaching that I found my calling. I have had the pleasure of working in various French-speaking and French immersion settings, including the Calgary French & International School and the Conseil Scolaire FrancoSud.

Between years in the classroom and teaching French to my three children at home, I have seen that children thrive in French when they have opportunities to use the language through meaningful interaction — through play, simple conversation, and genuine encouragement. This belief guides everything we do at La Classe de Delphine: activities designed to encourage authentic exchanges and help each child build the confidence and the reflex to express themselves in French.

Today, as a teacher and a mother, I deeply care about creating positive experiences where children can discover French as a living, joyful, and authentic language.
