The Programs
La Classe de Delphine programs are for children ages 4 to 12. Camp Soleil welcomes children ages 4 to 12.
No prior French knowledge is required. Activities are designed to suit all levels, from complete beginners to children already exposed to French.
Groups are intentionally small — a maximum of 6 to 8 children — so that each child receives personalized attention and feels comfortable speaking.
Through play, songs, crafts, cooking, and stories. The goal is not to teach grammar rules but to create natural opportunities to speak and listen to French.
Above all, confidence. At La Classe de Delphine, the emphasis is on oral practice — speaking, listening, responding — well beyond what a traditional classroom can offer. The goal is for your child to develop a reflexive French: a language they reach for naturally, without hesitation, with ease and confidence.
Eight weeks turns out to be just right — long enough for real progress to take root, short enough to keep the enthusiasm alive from start to finish. Each session builds on the last, and by the end, children feel genuinely proud to see how far they’ve come. That sense of accomplishment means the world to them — and it’s what makes all the difference in their French-learning journey.
For little ones, 40 minutes of French immersion is often just right for their precious attention span. A focused 40 minutes beats an hour of drifting minds. We believe in quality over quantity — and we want them to leave still curious, already looking forward to coming back.
On the contrary — in a small group, mixed ages are a pedagogical gift. Older children naturally step into a leadership role and become an example to the younger ones. As they do, they rise to that role in the most touching way: looking after each other, speaking French in front of the little ones, and discovering just how far their own French has come. The wellbeing of every child is at the heart of everything we do — something we can truly honour precisely because our groups are so small. Kindness comes naturally here, and that warmth is part of what makes the experience so special.
It’s actually an advantage for your child to be with older children: they will see what French looks like a little further along their journey — and be naturally inspired by it. Younger children learn so much through observation, and older ones become wonderful role models — without even realizing it. Everyone’s kindness is deeply valued, and we can nurture that precisely because the groups are so small.
